i've spoken to john boehner. i think he wants to get immigration dope. but he has to -- done. but he has to find a way to do it so that it passes muster in the house and it passes muster in the his republican conference. and sometimes that's mutually exclusive. it's not an easy needle to thread. i think it's premature to say that immigration reform is dead. it's not going to happen this year, but i keep hope alive that it may make a miraculous recovery and wake up from its coma sometime spring...
